Sequential Retargeting with Google Ads

Many of you may be familiar with Sequential Retargeting with Paid Social and Email Marketing Campaigns, but we do this for Google Ads. Did you know that you are able to target the same people with different ads and landing page experiences depending on their individual stage in their buying journey by using remarketing lists for search ads (RLSA) in Google. And guess what?  The conversion rate is usually 2x – 3x greater than traditional top of funnel PPC ads while the cost per lead is cut in half.

Why Does it Work?

The ClosedOpp PPC Funnel Strategy works for the same reason that an email DRIP campaign or any lead nurturing campaign works.  It is speaking to people who have already engaged with you or are familiar with your brand. Recent studies for B2B customers show that buying patterns are becoming more digital and more and more touchpoints are required before a customer makes a decision

How do we do it?

By now, you may have heard of remarketing lists for search ads (RLSA) with Google.  This is not to be confused with display ads which are useful in other cases but not in this example.  We only use search ads in the funnel strategy because the intent of someone who is searching for either your brand name or products / services that you offer is probably a much better quality lead than someone who clicked on a display ad.

With that said, you have invested a lot of time and resources into writing great content for your website including eBooks, white papers, marketing collateral, web pages, etc.  We promote all of this valuable content to the right people at the right time in their research or buying journey based on audiences that we set up inside of your Google Analytics and Google Ads.

For example, if someone visited your website last week but did not fill out a form or engage with you, no problem we have captured them in an audience.  If that same person searches for your brand name or any keyword that you’re buying, they are served a different ad and landing page experience because they are a known visitor.  After all, you wouldn’t want to send someone the same email two times in an email DRIP series, would you?  Well the same concept applies with Google Ads.
